Information
Patient safety is a theme that is high on the healthcare agenda. One of the largest threats for a hospital or healthcare organisation is bacteria and the resulting infection of patients. Operating theatres and treatment rooms must, therefore, satisfy very strict requirements. And these requirements are becoming stricter. As Director Keyaccount Care & Cure from Building Services, I'm involved in this a lot, because Imtech, as a technological services provider, is also extremely active in the healthcare sector.
Recently two of our business units, Imtech Building Services and Imtech ICT, joined forces in order to be of better service to hospitals and other health care organisations. As Building Services, we regularly build, renovate and upgrade operating theatres and treatment rooms.
Our Quickscan OR Renovation is one of our products. This enables us to give our customers insight into the work activities necessary for operating theatres. In addition, Imtech ICT is also active in hospitals and healthcare organisations, for example as a consultant in the logistics of patients and supplies in and around operating theatres. ICT’s product portfolio includes the Quickscan Operative Process. We've been offering all of these services as one integrated product since the summer.
I think this is a logical step. Our activities are an extension of each other's work. When a renovation of an operating theatre takes place, it's a good time to consider the accompanying logistical processes. In this way, Imtech can offer a much broader scope. ICT has specific knowledge of logistical processes and is often already involved in the preparations for a new build or renovation, while my business unit, Building Services, has operational process expertise in-house. Connecting these skills enables us to offer added value to the customer through performing better at lower costs.
