Leave ICT rigmarole behind you with private clouds

Added on: 23/01/2012

You want the gain without the pain. A company that uses private cloud technology can outsource a large share of its ICT systems. Companies can log on to the server via the Internet and use the software. A third party handles remote management and maintenance. It’s a convenient solution, one that furthermore makes the need for – often sizeable – ICT investments a thing of the past.

Qbranch
The Swedish firm Qbranch is an expert in the field of private cloud technology. The company was recently acquired by Imtech ICT. In Sweden, Qbranch, which serves medium-sized enterprises with a workforce of up to around 3,000, is the market leader in its sector. The company has four data centres housing a total of 3,200 servers. In addition, Qbranch handles the remote management of another 500 servers for clients on location.

Strong ICT position in the Nordic region
Sweden is a breeding ground for ICT solutions like private cloud technology. The country is a pioneer in the field of information technology and in a European comparison is the heaviest investor in ICT. Indeed, Sweden has already had a fibre optic network for some ten years now. Imtech’s acquisition of Qbranch is the company’s first step on the Swedish ICT market and is part of its move to build up a strong ICT position in the Nordic market (Sweden, Norway and Finland), as outlined in its 2015 strategic growth plan.
