Imtech Nederland places 150 employees from its Building Services business unit
14 March 2012
The Hague, the Netherlands - Imtech Nederland announces that 150 employees who are part of the Dutch Building Services business unit will be placed in an external employment pool.
As already announced, Imtech achieved excellent results in 2011 (EBITA +11% of which 5% is organic, and revenues +11% of which likewise 5% is organic). This is in spite of challenging market circumstances in a number of countries and markets. One of the market segments with a structurally poor market situation is the Dutch buildings market. Imtech Nederland has introduced a broad range of measures to react actively for this. Temporary personnel have been reduced to practically zero and employees, where necessary or desired, are being utilised in multiple business units. At the same time, there is a change in strategic focus of the Dutch business unit Building Services, including a focus on energy, green technology, education, care & cure, export, data centres, maintenance and management, in combination with a focus on operational excellence and combining competences and sites.
There is a significant reduction in market volume, particularly in the new-build market. To prevent ‘idle hours’ of personnel, particularly those specialised in new-build activities, it was decided to place 150 employees in an external employment pool. The Works Council issued positive advice on this. Discussions are currently being conducted with a number of companies specialised in technical secondments. The current CLA and applicable pension scheme will remain in force.
With this measure, Imtech Nederland is dedicating itself to improving the results of its Building Services business unit, which currently has 2,200 employees. In total, Imtech has approximately 28,600 employees.
