Orders worth 34 million euro for IT solutions in the UK
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in and outside Europe) announces that it at the end of 2011 and the beginning of 2012 secured orders worth 34 million euro for high-tech IT solutions in the UK. Examples of these orders are the preparation of the BBC internet IT infrastructure in anticipation of the ‘digital peak’ expected around the London Olympic Games and the supply of the IT infrastructure in a data centre for a major government agency.
René van der Bruggen, CEO Imtech: ‘Imtech is able to take advantage of changing circumstances in the European IT market. This has led to growth in the number of orders received in the UK too for distinctive IT solutions in managed services, business intelligence and high-tech network solutions.’
Rapidly changing market
The European IT market is seeing very quick changes in market trends. Technologies are converging rapidly of which customers are asking for IT as a Service (ITaaS) with distinctive capabilities for implementing efficient and cost-saving IT solutions. Imtech focuses on integral solutions with identifiable added value in business intelligence (preparing existing operational data streams for strategic and tactical use), cloud-based computing (sharing available computer infrastructure), managed services (specific software for company critical applications or budgetary applications and IT support for mostly complex SAP environments), ERP software (specifically tailored software for managing business processes) and collaboration (cooperation through IT integration). This also implies intensifying collaboration with strategic partners, for example IBM, Microsoft, Cisco, SAP and Juniper.
New orders in the UK
This approach is bearing fruit in the UK. Despite the market being quite challenging at the moment, Imtech is on track and has been able to attract substantial orders in the managed services market particularly - in line with its current strategy. Imtech works with Cable&Wireless Worldwide, a leading provider of mission critical communications to extend the footprint of the Juniper MX platform (within its existing AS1273 network). Cable&Wireless Worldwide will utilise the capability of this platform as part of the service it offers to its customers. A managed services contract has also been concluded with telecommunications provider Reliance Globalcom. For the BBC, in conjunction with AToS, Imtech is preparing the IT infrastructure behind numerous internet services in anticipation of the ‘digital peak’ expected around next year’s London Olympic Games. This pertains not only to websites, but also to applications such as live streaming and iPlayer. Business intelligence solutions will be supplied to financial data controller Graydon. High-tech networking infrastructure will be supplied to a major UK quad play service provider. Reckitt Benckiser, a major producer of consumer healthcare and professional products, has placed a substantial order for IBM data storage and server infrastructure solutions. Undeniably, the most prestigious order is for the supply of IT infrastructure in a data centre for a major government agency.
