Bas van Arkel started in September 2006 with Imtech High Voltage & Energy (HV&E) as a trainee: ‘I deliberately chose the university course electrical training, with a good combination of theory and practice. Besides acquiring knowledge I could make quickly the necessary 'flight hours’. ‘After the first year in school I have worked at several Imtech HV&E departments. Every six months in a different department and the last half year graduation. The advantage is that you see and experience in a younger age the whole process around projects. From acquisition to project implementation.‘ After his graduation Bas remained at Imtech. In the meantime already for two years in the department where he also graduated. Bas: ‘If it is going well, much is be done to arrange a suitable place for you. That's magnificent.‘
Angelique Sterken started as a temp at reception about 5 years ago, and now works as a contract manager for the Large Projects department. “I was still studying at the polytech then, where I gained my legal background, and recently I completed a course in Project Management. That’s what I like about Imtech: I value and need growth and development, and Imtech does too. Shared success also means shared investment in the future. Although I’m one of only a few women doing this job, I took to my position like a fish to water: everything is very clear-cut. We just go ahead and get things done. I love it!”
Jaap Vreeswijk has been employed by Peek since 2007, immediately after graduating. Jaap: ‘I found the work instantly fun, but realized soon that I needed a little more depth in the field of Transport and Behavior. This was already during my college time an area of interest to me’. Jaap had the idea to pursue a PhD at the University of Twente. He wanted to investigate changes in behavior of motorists as a result of measures in the field of traffic. For example: ‘Choose motorists another route as the green time of traffic lights change?’ Jaap: ‘Peek believes it is important for personal development. Moreover, there are other benefits. In this way I get a lot of knowledge within a specific area, and it is also a good way to reconnect with the university. Also, our customers find it interesting that we are busy with this kind of business. From Imtech I have been asked to blog about things I'm doing! ‘
